FEATURES:

A catless catalytic converter, commonly referred to as a test pipe, is a straight-through exhaust section engineered to replace the factory catalytic converter assembly. Unlike OEM converters that contain a ceramic or metallic honeycomb substrate coated with precious metal catalysts (such as platinum, palladium, and rhodium), a catless unit eliminates the catalyst core entirely.

By removing the restrictive substrate, exhaust gas flow is less impeded, reducing backpressure and allowing for improved volumetric efficiency under high-load conditions. This can result in increased exhaust flow velocity, quicker turbo spool (in forced induction applications), and a more pronounced exhaust tone.

Because it does not perform catalytic conversion of hydrocarbons (HC), carbon monoxide (CO), or nitrogen oxides (NOx), a catless system does not reduce emissions and may trigger O₂ sensor fault codes without proper tuning. These components are generally intended for off-road or competition use only where emissions compliance is not required.
